Teamwork Makes The Dream Work!

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”-Mahatma Gandhi.  At PCI, we are driven to make a difference in people’s lives.

A recent example of our “notthebigcompany” mindset in action occurred following the publication of the Air Force Association’s “AFA Members and Donors:  Then & Now“ directory.   Ernest “Ernie” Esparza, enlisted in the Air Force on June 20, 1950.  Ernie’s military career was quite accomplished: he was awarded the rank of Master Sergeant, he was involved in two combat tours, and he earned countless medals and ribbons.  He was honorably discharged on July 30, 1976.

PCI did not receive Mr. Esparza’s information for the AFA directory, so he did not make it into the recent publication.  Obviously, he was very disappointed.  Ernie’s Social Worker, Retha De Johnette, MSW, LCSW, with the Department of Veteran Affairs, called PCI.  Mel Johnson, Manager of Client Services, felt badly about the situation and asked team member Martin Schneider, Director of Print Production, if he had any ideas.  Martin created a framed photo box with the AFA directory cover, Ernest Esparza’s biography and his “Then and Now” photos.

The staff at the VA Center honored Ernest with a presentation ceremony.

Retha De Johnson told us, “This has been one of the most, if not the most, positive customer service experiences I’ve had.”  She also said Ernie was really happy and that he said, “What a boost for morale.”

Mel couldn’t have been happier.  What an excellent example of team work all around!  This is great news for all of us at “notthebigcompany,” where we are passionate about creating a WOW! experience with each of our interactions.
