Business is Personal

Did you know that you spend 45% or more of your waking hours at work?

Here’s a quick breakdown:

  •       168 = The number of hours in a given week (24 hours x 7 days = 168)
  •       56 = The number of hours we sleep (assuming we sleep an average 8 hours each a night)
  •       112 = The number of hours we are awake each week (168 – 56 = 112)
  •       50 = The number of hours you are at work (assuming a 40-hour week), driving to and from work (assuming one hour a day), and getting ready for work (one hour per day)
  •       50 / 112 = 45%!!

And that doesn’t include the hours we spend thinking about work when we are with our friends and families (not a good thing)!

45% is a big number.

45% means we spend a large percentage of lives at work.

45% is one of the reasons that at notthebigcompany, we believe that work should be MEANINGFUL.  At PCI, we want to make a difference in the lives of others with the work we do.  It is a key driver that helps define what we mean by notthebigcompany.

PCI Culture is a Formidable Foe in the Fight Against Cancer

Publishing Concepts is a proud sponsor, and participant, in “Relay for Life,” the American Cancer Society’s largest annual fundraising event in the world. On Friday, May 15, 2015, more than 70 PCI team members united for this cause. Like the samurai warrior, from our value of Change, our motto is “Act Fearlessly.” TEAM SAMURAI all walked and worked with family and friends to raise funds before, during and after this lifesaving mission.

While community service is a big part of who we are at “notthebigcompany,” our primary purpose is to bring more attention to cancer as this insidious disease has impacted several PCI associates and their families in the last few years. We joined together that day to celebrate our survivors, remember those we have lost, and to fight the good fight against cancer.

Publishing Concepts surpassed its fundraising goal of $5,000 to assist the American Cancer Society in investing in crucial research to prevent, treat, and ultimately, cure all cancers. And we are not finished yet. Our fundraising efforts continue through the end of August, 2015. We encourage everyone to give their time and/or money to support the ACS, and PCI’s fundraising, commitment to eradicating cancer. Thank you!
